About WORLD PARROT TRUST - Canada
The CWPT (Canadian World Parrot Trust) was founded in 1992 as a Canadian charity and operates in collaboration with other national branches of an international parrot conservation and welfare group collectively known as the WPT (World Parrot Trust). Since 1989 the WPT has led conservation and welfare projects in 45 countries for more than 80 species of parrots.
As an independent partner, the CWPT engages in its own activities and, from time to time, partners with the WPT for projects to advance the objectives of the CWPT. The CWPT utilizes its relationship with the WPT to strengthen its presence in the parrot conservation and welfare communities and to obtain scientific advice from the WPT's Scientific Committee. A separate board of trustees, whom reside within Canada, governs the CWPT.
