Woodland Cultural Centre

about

"I am so grateful that the Woodland Cultural Center is doing this hard work, and facilitating such powerful conversations - and doing so virtually! My family will always be indebted to your team. What you all have done to preserve history and foster healing is truly transformative" – Anonymous Donor

The Woodland Cultural Centre is the premier destination to explore, learn, and share the rich histories and contemporary cultures of Indigenous people of the Great Lakes region. Your support is needed to help us share our stories!

Located on the site of one of only two former Residential School buildings left standing in Ontario, the Woodland Cultural Centre strives to provide complete and immersive information and education about the history of the Residential School system in Canada and its impact on First Nations people. Your generous support helped us achieve the goal of restoring the Mohawk Institute Residential School site into a place where the stories of Residential School Survivors stories can be preserved and shared.

Your contribution to the Woodland Cultural Centre would ensure that we can continue to deliver the highest quality programs centered on a Hodinǫ̱hsǫ:ni worldview, celebrating, and sharing Indigenous culture, language, and art.

The Woodland Cultural Centre offers educational programs and resources to schools, school boards, universities and colleges, community organizations and our public audience. We need your donations to support the development and delivery of educational programs related to our cultures, language, stories, and the impacts of the residential school system.
