Maintain several consciousness raising groups focused on feminism and feminist issues;

Maintain and develop new feminist courses to advance feminist education, and empower women;

Support networks of feminist organisations, in Canada and internationally.

In the last decades academics and bureaucrats alike have recognised the harm that colonial systems and culture have done to Indigenous people, particularly Indigenous women and girls, and to all women and girls. Developed inside the system, this analysis is inevitably limited. Women's Studies Online Charitable Foundation was created to dislocate our analysis of women’s oppressions from these systems and by so doing, decolonize feminism. By maintaining some independence from academia and government systems, WMST Online can provide feminist education to women and girls at an arm’s length of the political throes of colonial and patriarchal systems that work to further entrench, codify and systematize our oppression. Our goal is not just to raise up insightful feminists, but to build women up for movement building and meaningful activism.

In the past WMST Online has hosted many feminist speakers including Max Dashu, Gail Dines, Chris Stark, and our very own Cherry Smiley. We have offered and continue to offer several consciousness raising groups that study feminist texts, art, and movement building, and we have developed and run introductory and advanced feminist courses including a course on tools for international advocacy. We now need your help to continue our offerings and to expand our course offerings. Coming up, WMST Online has plans to offer new and specialized courses like Feminist Criminology. We are developing new events, we are lining up new feminist guests, and we are preparing to expand our consciousness raising groups. Your support is an invaluable part of putting our into motion!
