My name is Hailey King and I am incredibly honoured to be joining the other 15 amazing Canadian women selected to participate in the 2024 World Para Ice Hockey Women's World Challenge, being held in Skien, Norway, from October 25th to 28th, 2024.
I am 15 years old (the youngest going), I started playing para hockey when I was 10, and this is my second year on the team. Para hockey gave me, a disabled teen, a chance to finally feel accepted and play a sport I love. My hope is that people are inspired by our team and they strive for what they love and elevate it to the best of their abilites, as we have. My goal is that one day Women’s Para Ice Hockey will be included in the Paralympics.
We as a team and group are united by a love of our sport with a drive for equality and recognition. I am thankful for all the support we are given and any donation is a stride forward in getting us to Worlds and equality.
