Crime Stoppers is a partnership involving the Police, Media and the Community. Anonymous tips are received from the community by Crime Stoppers and forwarded to the Police to investigate. Crimes are highlighted by the media to assist in soliciting tips.
Crime Stoppers is a charity that does not receive government funding. Board members are volunteers from the community at large. They develope programs to raise funds to pay the rewards to the anonymous tipsters. They also decide on the amount of the reward that is to be paid.
