Stone Soup Network began in the Swansea, Junction, High Park neighbourhood in 2016, where it continues to provide free goods and services to those in need and partner on grassroots campaigns let by local leaders. In 2022, Stone Soup Network grew to include a new neighbourhood in Ottawa and in in 2023, Stone Soup Network is poised to support 4 neighbourhoods across Canada. A key to our success is the forming of strategic partnerships, within a neighbourhood, to build relationships of trust, find local solutions to inequity and sustainability, and provide those who experience exclusion (women, racialized, economically disadvantaged, homeless, socially isolated elderly, newcomers, disadvantaged youth, and others) the additional resources they need to belong.
