OVERVIEW

The WDMH Foundation is pleased to announce our first-ever NHL Alumni Hockey Game event. It's a fun and interactive fundraiser for the local community. Join us on October 14th, 2023, at the Joel Steele Community Centre and Sam Ault Arena.

This event starts with a hockey game where NHL Celebrities will lace up against Local Community Members. The game will be followed by a meet and greet with the NHL Alumni players for those who purchase the VIP tickets.

Raise funds to join a team on the ice – or just come out for a fun evening of hockey and other surprises.

During the event, there will be a silent auction, raffles, games, and a free photo booth. Local famous hockey enthusiast Liam Mcguire will be our emcee for the evening.

Please join us to help raise funds in support of the WDMH Foundation's General Equipment Fund. Many people are surprised to learn that the provincial government does not fund the purchase of medical equipment for Ontario hospitals. That’s where the WDMH Foundation and our generous donors come in.

Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at the Joel Steele Community Centre and Sam Ault Arena (577 Main St W, Winchester, ON K0C 2K0).

Doors open at 6:30 PM
Game starts at 7:30 PM
Food will be provided by Graham and Lori Ball, local owners of the arena canteen.
Silent auction (Cash, Cheques, Debit, Visa, MasterCard, and American Express accepted)
Raffles and fun throughout the night. Please bring cash for all the fun

NHL Alumni Meet and greet to begin at 9:00 PM
Hors d'oeuvres will be provided.
Cash Bar open at 6:30 PM

Player Information

In order to qualify to play, players must pay a $250 registration fee and can either give or fundraise a minimum of $750 more in addition to the registration fee as a minimum of $1,000 is needed to qualify to play. You can play with or against some famous (and hopefully your favourite) NHL Alumni players. The players who raise the most money ($1,000+) get to pick which position they would like to play. Spaces are very limited - just 32! so don’t wait too long or you might be out of luck!

Player Rules

1. In order to qualify to play, there is a $250 registration fee and players can either give or fundraise a minimum of $750 more (as a minimum of $1,000 is needed to qualify to play.)

2. The more money raised, the better chance the player will have to choose their preferred position, i.e., Centre, Defense, Celebrity Team, Community Team etc.

3. An official draft will be held a few days prior to the game to select positions and teams.

4. Players will be asked to arrive at 6:15 PM to get ready.

5. Players will be given 20 minutes to practice on the ice before the game begins.

6. There will be two 20-minute periods.

7. There will be a group picture taken at the end of the game.

8. Players will be given access to the NHL Alumni Meet and Greet in the VIP Lounge after the game.
