What You Won't Do For Love is a unique and intimate theatre experience that asks whether the love we have for each other can inspire us to take action for the planet. The play is taken from real life conversations between two theatre artists and renowned environmentalists David Suzuki and Tara Cullis in British Columbia.
Fireside Chat with David Suzuki and Mark Carney
On Wednesday, October 2, 2024, two visionary leaders, David Suzuki and Mark Carney, will come together to discuss ways we can balance the urgent need to protect the planet while building a thriving economy.
Bios
David Suzuki is a grandfather, an award-winning geneticist and professor emeritus at UBC who co-founded the David Suzuki Foundation in 1990. He is widely recognized as a world leader in sustainable ecology and has received numerous awards for his work. He has been honoured with eight names and formal adoption by two First Nations.
Mark Carney is a Canadian economist who served as governor of the Bank of Canada between 2008 and 2013, and Governor of the Bank of England between 2013 and 2020. As UN Special Envoy for Climate Finance & Action and Co-Chair of the Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero he advocates for actions to integrate climate change into financial decision making and puts these into practice as Chair of Brookfield Asset Management, and Head of Transition Investing at Brookfield Corporation.
The talk will be moderated by Valerie Pringle, a distinguished Canadian broadcaster, journalist and advocate, widely recognized for her contributions to both media and society.
