Westminster Memorial United Church
We are a caring family church that explores faith, worship, & service offering a sense of belonging, beautiful music & comfort in good times & bad.
We are a community of faith serving those in, surrounding and visiting the town of Kamsack, Saskatchewan. Our church serves the United Church of Canada and gathers to explore faith, worship, and serve and is recognized as a Community of Faith within the United Church by the Regional Council through a covenantal relationship between the Community of Faith and the Regional Council.
Our Community of Faith's Mission Statement:
As a people with a strong Christian faith, we desire to create a “family” church established Westminster Memorial United Church in 1919. Today, we try to live up to those expectations by maintaining the traditions they established – a sense of belonging, beautiful music and comfort in good times and bad. We endeavor to be a caring community through meaningful worship, outreach, and especially to support and encourage our fellow members and adherents.
United Church of Canada's Mission
As a Community of Faith with the United Church of Canada, our mission is also to:
1) Live in covenant with the Regional Council with mutual responsibilities for the life and mission of the Community of Faith, and fulfilling its responsibilities under the covenant;
2) do regular self-assessments of the ministry of the Community of Faith; and filing the report with the Regional Council; The Basis of Union: Polity The Manual, 2019 35 The United Church of Canada
3) join the hearts, voices, and resources of the community to witness to the gospel and vision of Jesus for a compassionate and just society, both in Canada and around the world;
4) participate in local, regional, national and global initiatives and partnerships (community, ecumenical and interfaith) for ministry, mission and justice work;
5) provide ministry with children and youth and young adults;
6) honour and live into intercultural mission and ministry; and
7) live in covenant with Mother Earth and All My Relations in the Earth community.
