Establish and maintain park/street intervention services for youth aged 12 to 25 years old on the West Island.
-The youth/street workers are there to prevent youth difficulties: violence, overdose, suicidal thoughts, misdemeanour, homelessness, etc
-The youth/street workers are available to listen to youth who want to discuss their problems or concerns.
-The youth/street workers facilitate youth by supporting their projects and by participating in their activities.
About West Island Youth Action (AJOI)
The interventions falls somewhere between the street worker mandates and a youth worker mandates in Maison des jeunes. We go to where the youth are to reach them, for example: parks, shopping centers, schools, arcades, etc. Outreach will be carried out once the «hot spots» where youth hang out in the West Island have been identified.
