Worldwide, children bear the worst of war. One out of every six children is forced to live in conflict zones – that’s 473 million children at risk. War violates every right of a child. It not only threatens the safety and lives of children, but also denies them their right to education, to be nurtured and protected, and the opportunity to build their own future. The threats to children have dramatically increased in recent years as violence, insecurity, and the refugee crisis worsen across the globe.

In the past 25 years, War Child has developed a proven track record of success in the hardest hit areas of the world. We work in places where many other organizations are unable or unwilling to work. Because 99% of our staff are recruited from within the communities where we work, our programs are more effective, community-driven, responsive, and cost-efficient.
