War Child is a globally recognized for our grassroots, community-driven model of humanitarian action, rooted in collaboration and is locally driven and locally led. We work to foster the capacity of children, their families, and their communities to develop resilience, self-reliance, and self-determination in overcoming the impacts of violence and displacement.
Of our 500+ staff members worldwide, 99% of our teams are local to the region they serve.

Our programming is integrated, longitudinal, designed to tackle enormous barriers facing children living with war worldwide. It promotes an end to poverty and violence by ensuring children have the support and resources to survive and thrive.
Currently operating in Afghanistan, Democratic Republic of the Congo, South Sudan, Uganda, and Yemen, our efforts achieve transformational change through: education, access to justice, food security, marketable skills and income generation, psychosocial and trauma support, women's rights, climate resilience.
