Our Mission
The purpose of the Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association is to provide a therapeutic horseback riding program for children and adults with disabilities to promote and enrich their physical, psychological and social well-being.
About VICTORIA THERAPEUTIC RIDING ASSOCIATION
The Victoria Therapeutic Riding Association (VTRA) is a charitable organization that uses horseback riding as a recognized therapeutic aid for people with a wide range of physical, intellectual and learning disabilities. VTRA offers classes to 145 children and adults with disabilities that include Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, Autism, mental challenges, hearing or vision impairment and many more. VTRA has been operating since 1982 and is made up of a herd of 12 specially trained therapy horse, a small paid staff and more than 200 active volunteers, including our board of directors. Through their generous contributions of time, skills and money, along with those of all our supporters, these volunteers make it possible for the VTRA to offer these life-changing programs.
