VICTORIA ARION MALE CHOIR
Registered Name: Victoria Arion Male Choir Society
Business No: 138724042RR0001
This organization is designated by Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) as a registered charity. They comply with the CRA's requirements and has been issued a charitable registration number.
The Victoria Arion Male Choir was formed in 2018 after the Arion Male Voice Choir singing since 1892 and the Victoria Male Voice Choir with roots back to 1908 decided to merge. The two choirs realized they could better fulfill their dreams of being “a community of men singing for charity, health and joy” as one group rather than two. It is an exciting new venture which is already proving to be a great success both musically and organizationally.
We also provide 3-4 bursaries each year to male music students as Choral Scholars. These Scholars add youth to our voices, and provide invaluable music leadership and support to other choir members.
Our Music Director is Sean Lampard-Quicke who joined us for the 2020-2021 season, and our accompanist is Jennifer Mitchell. The choir before Covid-19 performed annually two-four community concerts and many more care home concerts.
In September 2021, we started practicing in-person again, with fully vaccinated, masked and distanced singers and staff (some singers join via Zoom), and our first public performance in almost 2 years was at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Day (11th November 2021) in support of Veterans, carried live on CHEK TV. We also issued 3 songs recorded during rehearsal, available to view at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NkeX1mGLgD0
The Victoria Arion Male Choir Society is the not-for profit organization (with Registered Charity Status) that runs the Victoria Arion Male Choir. We invite you to join our other supporters as a donor.
