19 days to go
Since January 7, 2025, out-of-control wildfires have and continue to sweep across Southern California, leaving families and their beloved animals in urgent need of help.
VWB is partnering with local organizations to provide underserved community members with direct support in the form of pet care vouchers for essentials like pet food, supplies, and veterinary care for smoke inhalation and stress.
Here's how your gift today can make a difference:
1. Help local organizations provide emergency animal rescue and care
Together with on-the-ground organizations like Living Free Animal Sanctuary, VWB is helping deliver immediate, life-saving relief to animals impacted by the fires. Living Free is working closely with local partners and authorities to rescue and transport animals—including dogs, horses, and pigs—that have been affected by the disaster. In addition to these rescue efforts, Living Free is offering an equine therapy program to support the recovery of first responders in the weeks and months ahead.
2. Launch the emergency crisis resilience response fund
Through this fund, we’re offering pet care vouchers of $250–$500 to evacuees with pets, enabling them to cover critical expenses such as emergency veterinary care, pet food, leashes, and other supplies. These vouchers, distributed in collaboration with local assistance programs, provide flexibility and dignity to underserved families navigating this challenging time.
Every donation, no matter how big or small, will help us provide crucial support to those impacted by this ongoing crisis and beyond.
