VFC 2022 Fall Lectures on ZOOM start Sunday, October 2nd. at 1PM ET and run four weekends to Saturday, November 13th.
Dear Vasculitis Foundation Canada Members and Friends,
VFC is pleased to host top speakers who will present topics of interest for vasculitis patients and caregivers alike.
We know vasculitis patients have lots of questions🤔 about their vasculitis. This fall you’ll have time to get answers😌 to those questions as each lecture has time for Q&A. Our program dates will be as follows:
Sunday, October 2, 2022 starting at 1PM ET
Saturday, October 15, 2022 starting at 1PM ET
Saturday, October 29, 2022 starting at 1PM ET
Sunday, November 13, 2022 starting at 1PM ET
Remember, VFC members attend all VFC Fall Lectures for free! You can renew your membership, or become a new member, online at time of registration for the annual fee of just $20.
If your membership is current, register for any lecture for free! Everyone else is required to pay $20.00 for a one year VFC membership at registration to attend any or all lectures. Experiencing financial hardship email us at contact@vasculitis.ca to attend free.

Although subject to change, this falls speakers and the proposed program will be as follows:
Sunday, October 2, 2022 at 1 & 2 PM ET
1PM ET: Dr. Simon Carette – Toronto, ON Dr. Carette has spent a lifetime in the of world rheumatology and about the last 20 years he headed up the Toronto Vasculitis Clinic. He is the author, or co-author of numerous papers and is co-founder of CanVasc (www.canvasc.org). He retired this past summer and will share his reflections on the world of vasculitis from its very beginnings to the present day, and offer his insight into what the future of vasculitis may look like.

Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 1 & 2 PM ET
1PM: Dr. Susan Abbey – Toronto, ON Dr. Susan Abbey has a keen interest in the emotional aspects of physical illness, and the physical and emotional impact of stress. She has researched coping tools like mindfulness and has worked with many patients, and families, including those with critical care issues.
2PM: TBA
Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 1 & 2 PM ET
1PM: Dr. Christian Pagnoux - Toronto ON, Dr. Pagnoux will discuss what's new in EGPA, TAK and GCA.
2PM: Dr. Michael Walsh - Hamilton, ON, will discuss the PEXIVAS study which investigated the role of plasma exchange in GPA/MPA and compared two prednisone protocols which indicated a rapid taper reduced serious infections. This is a not to be missed lecture!
3PM: Dr. Stephanie Garner will speak to the issues of vasculitis and pregnancy, male/female drug induced infertility, and drug induced early onset menopause. She’ll also give us a quick COVID and vasculitis update!
Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 1 & 2 PM ET
1PM: Dr. Duvuru Geetha - Baltimore, MD, is a nephrologist Johns Hopkins and is interested in ANCA vasculitis (AAV), IgA vasculitis and glomerular kidney disease. She will speak on kidney disease, kidney health and transplant options! Johns Hopkins also tracks global COVID cases and she’ll report “real world” data on the risk COVID poses to vasculitis patients.
2PM: Dr. Jan Willem Cohen Tervaert - Edmonton, AB, will speak on fatigue, sleeping problems and anxiety. He will also speak about how to prevent relapses of the disease after being treated for vasculitis.
3PM: Lucy De Matos – Toronto, ON Lucy will speak from her own experience on lifestyle factors and foods that cause inflammation, and those that don’t, including sample recipes!
