Our Mission

The Vancouver and Lower Mainland Multicultural Family Support Services Society will provide counselling and support services to women and their families in situations of all stages of domestic violence and throughout their interactions with the legal and social systems.

The society will also provide educational programs within the multicultural communities dealing with the dynamics of family violence, prevention and alternative models of treatment.

The society will seek to create cultural sensitization amongst professionals.

About VANCOUVER AND LOWER MAINLAND MULTICULTURAL FAMILY SUPPORT SE

VLMFSS provides culturally sensitive counselling to immigrant,refugee and visible minority women, children and families facing domestic violence. Support,counselling, advocacy and accompaniment are provided by our bilingual/bicultural workers in 24 languages ( Cantonese/Mandarin/Farsi/Japanese/Korean/Polish/Punjabi/Russian/Spanish/Tagalog/Vietnameseetc. The programs we offer are Multicultural Outreach, Stopping the Violence, Children's programs - Children Who Witness Abuse, Community Action Program for Children, Community Based Victims Support Volunteers Training, Educational programs for Ethnic communities and Cultural-sensitization workshops for professionals who provide services to immigrant and refugee families.
