Why donate to United Way Southern Vancouver Island?
It's simple: we unite donors like you with trusted grassroots service providers who do good work in our great community.
These service providers are part of a vast network of local agencies that are making life safer and healthier for families, seniors, and people with mental health and addictions challenges.
Everyone benefits when we meet pressing community needs like access to nutritious food, essential health resources, and human connection.
Many of the programs run by our funded service providers simply would not operate without the support of United Way Southern Vancouver Island donors.
More than 2/3 of our community partners have no capacity to raise their own funds. This is where and why we step in.
We also focus on the root causes of some of Southern Vancouver Island’s most complex social issues. We act as a convener, uniting people and organizations in the private, public and social sectors to come up with solutions and help make social change possible.
Whether it’s meeting immediate community needs or tackling complex social issues, we are committed to improving people’s lives and building strong communities. But we can’t do this work alone.
Unite with us.
About United Way Southern Vancouver Island
For 87 years, United Way Southern Vancouver Island (UWSVI) has served the local community and remains dedicated to supporting people in areas where they need it most. We believe everyone in the Greater Victoria region, which includes 13 municipalities and 11 First Nations and the Southern Gulf Islands, should have the opportunity to reach their potential. Last year, UWSVI supported more than 50,000 individuals on Southern Vancouver Island in building better lives. That is almost one in seven people in our region being helped by a United Way initiative or funded program.
