United Way SIBC COVID-19 Relief Fund

The COVID-19 pandemic is changing the way we live our lives. Here at United Way Southern Interior BC, we've been working with our community partners to assess and prepare for how COVID-19 will not only affect our health but also the social fabric across the Okanagan, Columbia, Shuswap, and Similkameen communities.

We've been there for each other through floods and wildfires. When crisis strikes, we must take action together.

As a result, we’ve launched a Community Relief Fund to support our local community during this global crisis. https://unitedwaysibc.com/covid19/

We are asking you to consider how the challenges we face as a community are impacting the most vulnerable, and urge you to help any way you can.

The social service sector is a critical part of the response to COVID-19 pandemic in our region, with front line staff continuing to support the most vulnerable and at risk people in our communities. But they can’t do it alone, they need our help and the support of their community!

With your support, we can provide the front-line community service workers as they provide essential non-medical support to the most vulnerable in our communities:

Basic needs - Ensure people have access to life's essentials, such as food and shelter.

Help for seniors - Ensure that while vulnerable people are isolated, they are also supported.

Capacity for community services - Ensure that community partners can continue to do their vital local work.

Mental health support - Enable and support system navigation services.

Support for volunteers - There are amazing people rallying to support others. They need our help too.
