The Tweed & Area Arts Council (T&AAC) is a charitable, not-for-profit organization run entirely by volunteers. Established in 2006, membership is open to all who wish to join. T&AAC was founded on the belief that the arts are for everyone, and our vision is to enrich the cultural life of the community by promoting awareness of and appreciation for all of the arts.
The area is rich with talent and artistic expression. We seek to support and encourage participation by all ages with music, theatre, visual arts, and the many organizations providing studio tours, concerts, poetry readings and more.
T&AAC hosts the annual ‘Art in the Park’ event, and occasional concerts at the historic lake-side Tweed Kiwanis Pavilion. We've also hosted shows as part of the Ontario Festival of Small Halls’ fall concerts and ‘Deck the Halls’ Christmas series. We have partnered with The Heart of Hastings Hospice in 2019 (and had planned to do so in 2020 prior to the pandemic) on the ‘Music with a Heart’ series to raise awareness and funds for both organizations.
