Trinity Historical Society Inc. (THS) was founded in 1964 as a not-for-profit organization to preserve, present and promote the history of Trinity and the surrounding communities that make up the area known as Trinity Bight (12 communities).
It owns and operates the Trinity Historical Society Archives (1966), Trinity Museum (1967), Green Family Forge (1991), Court House, Gaol and General Building (1996), Lester-Garland House (1997), Cooperage (2007) and Fort Point (2012).
Since its founding the Society has been in the forefront of the promotion, preservation and presentation of the historic resources, heritage and history of Trinity and the surrounding area and has been a leading contributor to the economic development of the region. It has achieved a number of accomplishments over the years, on its own and with partners in the Bonavista Peninsula region. It remains a leading organization in the heritage community in the province with a dedicated group of volunteers and staff.
