Tribe Artist Society is an Indigenous-led Hip Hop & arts organization. We're dedicated to helping artists become their most powerful selves.
Tribe Artist Society is an Indigenous-led Hip Hop and arts organization with a clear mission: to help artists become their most powerful selves by providing access to Indigenous-friendly spaces, education, coaching, and mentorship.
With a focus on the 18 to 30 age group, especially Indigenous youth who often lack cultural access after aging out of support systems, we serve a diverse population, working with emerging artists and youth from various backgrounds and demographics.
We've established impactful partnerships with institutions such as the Calgary Young Offenders Centre, Forest Lawn High School, Arts Commons, University of Calgary, and Sober Crew to create meaningful connections within our community. Through weekly/bi-weekly programs including Monday Rap Night, Drumming Circle, Rap workshops for incarcerated youth at CYOC, and Tribe Cypher U of C, we provide a range of services aimed at nurturing artistic growth, cultural understanding, and personal development.
At the core of our initiatives lies a steadfast commitment to Indigenous culture, healing, and reconciliation. In the spirit of reconciliation, our projects aim not only to offer platforms for self-expression but also to heal and unite through the transformative power of the arts, welcoming individuals of all nationalities from around the world in a sober place where Hip Hop and Indigenous culture live.
