Transition to Betterness (T2B) is dedicated to providing comfort to patients and families impacted by a life-altering illness.
Transition to Betterness relies on our community to ensure that we can meet the needs of patients and their families during life altering illnesses.
T2B operates 17 programs for crucial comfort care in our three local area hospitals.
T2B Palliative Care Unit, Stephanie and Barry Zekelman Wing located in Hotel Dieu Grace Healthcare’s Tayfour Campus :
- Music & Medicine Therapy Program - Adult Music and Medicine Programs provides soothing music therapy sessions.
- Holiday Meal Program - Offers a complimentary meal for families in the palliative unit on holidays throughout the year in hopes of keeping family traditions alive.
- Comfort Cart - Comfort Cart provides patients and families with beverages and snacks.
- Concierge Cart - The concierge cart provides patients with everyday essentials during their hospital stay.
- Parking Passes - Every patient receives complimentary parking for their family & visitors
- Comfort Blanket Program - Comfort Blankets are warm fleece blankets for the patients at the hospital.
- TV Services - Every patient receives complimentary TV services
- Hospitality Cafe Mobile Convenience Carts (4) - Provides snacks, water, coffee and tea for families with loved ones in palliative situations (Purple Heart Patients).
- Concierge Program - The concierge program provides patients and visitors with emotional support and everyday essentials during their hospital stay.
- Comfort Cart - Comfort Cart provides patients and families with beverages and snacks.
- Art & Music Therapy - Gives children a voice, with a therapist, to share their anxieties, feelings and thoughts.Paediatric Nutrition Room
- Medical Teaching Supplies - Promotes understanding and education in dealing with treatment and new events, such as hair loss for example.
- Back the Pack Program - Provides paediatric oncology patients with a backpack filled with toys to take with them to treatments.
- Paediatric Nutrition Room - The room offers snacks 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the families and patients of this unit.
- Slushie Machine Program - Allows children and their families to have something refreshing after surgery or treatment
- Paedicatic Art Cart - Allows paediatric patients to partake in art therapy from their bedside.
- T2B Dr. Michelle Prince Comfort Care Tote Program - The Tote Program helps engage and comfort patients during chemotherapy.
With the help of our organization’s 100+ volunteers, we are able to provide these charitable services to our community daily. T2B receives no government funding and is supported by the donations from generous donors and sponsors throughout the Windsor-Essex and online community.
There are many ways to #GiveWhereYouLive, a few fundraising ideas are; corporate sponsorships, planned giving, hosting a third party event, memorials, wedding donations, youth or school fundraising initiatives and so much more.
