The Sudbury Kinsmen Family Centre Foundation, operating as the House of/Maison de Kin, is a not  for profit, registered charity. We are located in Sudbury, Ontario, and our doors have been open since October 1997. 

For families and individuals faced with having to travel for medical treatment, the costs can be overwhelming. The House of Kin exists to help ease some of that burden. Our home away from home benefits residents from Northeastern Ontario, Northwestern Quebec and beyond who travel to Sudbury for specialized medical treatment.

The House of Kin provides low cost accommodations for people travelling to Sudbury for any type of medical service. We provide a clean, comfortable and safe environment for our guests, with 32 rooms available at nearly half the cost of a regular hotel room. Over our 21 years of operation at this location, the House of/Maison de Kin has helped over 300,000 people lower the costs of their travel expenses. Our home away from home is open 24/7, closing only at Christmas to provide our caring staff a seasonal break. This closure affords us the opportunity to tend to any minor renovations without disturbing our guests. 

The House of Kin is not a government funded facility, and requires donations to keep our doors open. Our program helps to alleviate the stress by reducing financial hardships on our guests.
