United Way of Thunder Bay is a local organization that focuses on poverty in our community. We do this in many ways, including inspiring our friends, neighbours and businesses to get involved; working with our partners to address key issues and find solutions; and, by investing resources into these collective efforts.

We feel that everyone has an important role to play in building a strong, vibrant community and we want you to help us build a Thunder Bay and NWO District we can all be proud of.

Our Impact

Our new Community Impact Plan has three core goals to help lift local people out of poverty. The focus is to bring Thunder Bay together to address the root causes and impacts of poverty; to build a more inclusive and connected community; and to support all children and youth to succeed in school.

Community Clothing AssistanceIndividuals (some returning) were assisted with clothing in 2019 through the UNDERCOVER program. This program is especially valuable to potential job seekers who receive clothing for job interviews.
