Overview

On the evening of Friday, June 2nd, The Today Centre is hosting our first-ever 'Illuminating Hope' Garden Cocktail Party at the lovely Muttart Conservatory. We chose the theme of 'Illuminating Hope' to remind us all how important the work The Today Centre does is in the prevention and education of family violence in our community and beyond.

For victims of family violence, 'Illuminating Hope' is a reminder that they are not alone in their fear, uncertainty, and trauma. It is a reminder that there is help within their unique situation and experiences.

At the event, guests will enjoy an array of flavourful and vibrant hors d’oeuvres, eye-catching signature cocktails, enjoy various forms of entertainment, and most importantly, hear a personal story of hope from a survivor of family violence.

Enjoy the visual decadence of Edmonton’s own four pyramids of beauty during the golden hour and bid on a selection of high-quality silent auction items.

A BIG thank you to our sponsors who are so graciously supporting this event and The Today Centre! We appreciate you!

About This Charity

The Today Centre exists as a first-stop, short-term assistance centre for any adult experiencing family violence. Through compassion, empathy, and non-judgmental listening, our trained Family Violence Specialists can help clients navigate their risks and increase safety through directing to appropriate legal assistance, exploring options for emergency shelters, providing education around family violence and its impact, etc. This can support an individual’s safety plan and increase an individual’s toolkit and knowledge around family violence and existing supports. Through our Public Education program we help service providers and community members gain knowledge and skills to better recognize and respond to family violence.
