The Salvation Army on 171 George Street in Ottawa, Ontario, typically sees up towards 200 families per week who are seeking emergency help with groceries. Like many agencies, we rely heavily on both cash and food donations. Our dream is to be able to supply each family, no matter what the size, with a 3 to 5 days supply of nutritious fruits, vegetables, and dairy. Every $15.00 raised through this campaign, will ensure we supply a family of 4 with a well-balanced mix of the products above, mixed with bread, proteins, and other delicious nutritious foods. We also ensure that 23,000+ children in the Ottawa area have toys under their Christmas Tree each year through our Annual Toy Mountain Campaign. 100% of every dollar we receive through Canada Helps goes directly to supporting families with food, clothing, and toys for children.
