The Newman Association of Montreal offers religious and educational programs to students of McGill University and the wider community. .
Our Mission
Inspired by the life and work of John Henry Newman, the mission of the Newman Centre of McGill University is to form an articulate, active, and committed Catholic laity;
to provide a vibrant social, intellectual and spiritual environment, which is enriching for students and the community at large;
to work closely with people of other traditions in promoting dialogue, respectful appreciation, and cooperation in a divided world;
to share the riches of the Catholic tradition with the academic and wider community, offering constructive solutions to real human problems from scripture and doctrine, the Church’s deepest sources of repair;
to support young people in the adventure of discovery and learning, and to grow with them in ever deeper expressions of Christian love and service.
The Centre strives to achieve these aspirations in accordance with the aims and objectives of the Newman Association of Montreal and in collaboration with the Newman Catholic Students’ Society.
