Being a sanctuary for abandoned or homeless elderly dogs mean our vet bills are much higher than average. Often the dogs come to us needing emergency care, surgery and/or medication, at the very least a check up and blood tests.
The veterinarians that we use all support us with discounts, and are generous with their time. Even with this much needed support our vet bills are between $25,000 and $30,000 annually.
