ABOUT THE MANITOBA CONSERVATORY OF MUSIC & ARTS

In 1984, the Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Arts (MCMA) opened its doors.

Since then, students of all ages have attended our programming to flourish in an environment where shared values and common interest brings them community.

Today, the MCMA is a community of musicians, for musicians, by musicians - achieving a higher level of musical instruction because the instructors, students and staff are infused with the passion, discipline, joy and camaraderie of music.

Our Faculty boasts some of the finest instructors and performers that our city has to offer, many holding a Bachelor's degree in Music, or higher. Our instructors are able to support their professional performance careers by maintaining a studio that ignites the spark of the student musicians that they meet.

In addition to the individual and group programming offered by the MCMA, there is an outreach called Music Equals. This program reaches into underserved communities to create opportunities for music education and live music performances where it would otherwise not exist. Music Equals develops programs to meet the needs of the communities it serves, and removes as many barriers as possible to access music education. Since 2005, Music Equals has touched the lives of over 10,000 community members by building connections, and sharing the gift of music.
