Overview
At Macaulay, we serve a wide range of families, many of whom are newcomers to Canada, adjusting to a new country and culture, Approximately 35% of the children we serve have extra support needs, such as developmental disabilities and behavioural challenges, requiring specialized care and attention. Additionally, a significant number of the families we support are grappling with income insecurity, making it challenging to meet basic needs like food, shelter and child care.
Our mission is clear: we welcome all children and foster their healthy development, ensuring they reach their greatest potential within engaged families and equitable communities. But to continue this vital work, we urgently need your support.
Toronto’s strength lies in its diversity, its resilience and its community spirit. By supporting Macaulay’s 2024 Campaign, you are investing in the future of our city’s children and families. Your donation will have a direct impact on the lives of those who need it most, helping to create a stronger, more equitable Toronto for all.
We offer a wide variety of programs for children and those closest to them, but many of these programs urgently require funding to ensure their continued operation. Your generosity will help us continue to provide the essential services that Toronto’s families rely on.

- Support Families in Crisis: Our Emergency Family Support Program offers a lifeline, delivering timely assistance to families in crisis. By donating, you help ensure that Toronto families receive the support they need during difficult times, allowing children to grow up in safe, nurturing homes.
- Foster Inclusivity and Equity: Macaulay is committee to inclusivity and equity, ensuring that all children, including those with extra support needs / disabilities, have access to the resources and support they need. Your donations help us continue to offer specialized support, from speech and language services to early intervention programs, making a lasting difference in the lives of Toronto’s most vulnerable children.
Donation Amount Categories
- $25: Provides board games or books to support learning and development for a child who has none.
- $100: Purchases therapeutic toys for 5 children to continue their therapeutic goals at home.
- $150: Funds healthy snacks for one week for 20 children in our After School Program
- $200: Offers specialized classroom support for a child with extra support needs
- $300: Enables a parent education workshop for 10 families in the After School Program.
- $500: Purchases STEM and coding supplies for 50 children.
- $1,000: Provides sports equipment for one location or covers baby formula for an infant whose mother is unable to breastfeed.
