For people living in poverty, there is rarely a festive gathering around a dinner table. They struggle, in silence, to obtain wholesome food. For the homeless, the prospects are more dire.
As the gap between privilege and poverty continues to widen, we, like many charities, have seen firsthand the devasting impact for the vulnerable and at risk. It is only through the generosity of individuals, like you, that over the last 20-months, we’ve continued without pause to provide a warm welcome and hot meal to those who turn to us for help.
GivingTuesday is a day that demonstrates the power of participation. Last year Canadians raised over $36 million creating positive impact across the country. That’s the power of one day, the power of one gift, the power of one person to make a difference.
The power of one person’s vision is how Feed the Hungry all began and continues almost 25-years later serving almost 55,000 meals each year without pause since the onset of the pandemic.
As we make our way forward in this fragile new normal, you help our efforts to ensure no one gets left behind.
As the world begins to open once again, rediscovering the pleasure of proximity and the comfort of connection, not everyone can or will be fortunate enough to rebuild the same. During this holiday season of reflection and giving, if you can, please donate to The Law Society Foundation’s Lawyers Feed the Hungry program. Your gift will help keep our doors open and meals prepared – today, tomorrow, and always.
Because we know it’s so much more than just being hungry. It’s not knowing when you may eat at all.
Please donate today.
