The John Howard Society of Fredericton works with youth and adults to help them make better life decisions. We have four main focus areas:
CHIMO Helpline: A Provincial crisis helpline available to all New Brunswickers.
Youth Intervention Services: A variety of services for at risk youth including job skills, life skills, mentorship, anger management, stress management, job placement, leadership, school support and liaison, referrals and more.
Housing First Services: Housing First is a recovery-oriented approach to ending homelessness that centres on quickly moving people experiencing homelessness into independent and permanent housing, and then providing additional supports and services as needed. Currently, we own and operate 53 permanent, affordable housing units, for people who had been experiencing homelessness. No one provides more permanent homes for homeless individuals in the Fredericton area than we do.
Shelter Services: We operate a 30 bed, low-barrier shelter for people experiencing homelessness.
