The Willow Tree Heritage Society, established in 1994, is an entirely volunteer-run charity dedicated to preserving the rich cultural heritage of Hant’s Harbour, Newfoundland and Labrador. Our mission aligns with inspiring hearts and investing in minds by bringing the stories, traditions, and lived experiences of our coastal community to life—helping both residents and visitors connect more deeply with their roots and dreams.

We maintain and interpret three key historic sites—the Willow Tree Museum, the Custard Head Fishing Premises (a registered historical site), and the Willow Tree Cemetery—each offering a unique lens into our shared past, from early fishing industry practices to poignant wartime history. Through community programming, artifact preservation, and locally rooted economic development initiatives, we work to create a better every day for our people by honoring where we’ve come from.
