The Eleanor Drury Children’s Theatre is a local non-profit theatre group, formed in 1982, that exists to provide opportunities for young people to learn and experience live theatre. The group was established by members of Cambrian Players in memory of Eleanor Drury and her enthusiastic, passionate, and strong advocacy for theatrical opportunities for children. 

 For many years EDCT was one of the only theatre groups for youth to perform in Thunder Bay. Today it continues to offer youth the unique experience of being involved in every aspect of the play’s creation including script writing, character development, costume and make-up, and set design. Run by volunteers, under the leadership of a volunteer Board of Directors, EDCT engages local artists as directors, producers, and stage managers to work with young actors to produce an annual production for the general public and local schools. 

 We count on donations and proceeds from our performances to sustain the group. We provide discounted school matinees, financially assist youth through Pro Kids, and take part in the "Take a Child to Theatre" initiative which provides opportunities for community youth groups from varying socioeconomic backgrounds to experience live theatre.
