Our Mission
Assignment:
Preventing harm and neglect to all children and strengthening families through crisis, respite and support services.
Organization Purpose:
• To provide immediate and non-judgmental, short-term emergency shelter for children in order to prevent abuse and neglect
• To provide parents with education, support and referrals to strengthen and support their goal of becoming a healthy family
• To promote a better community understanding of the need to prevent child abuse and neglect.
About The Children's Cottage Society
The Children's Cottage Society of Calgary is a Crisis Nursery and Respite Service helping vulnerable children and their families. The Cottage started as a Crisis Nursery 24 years ago and now offers 3 other programs to strengthen families and reduce the risk of abuse and neglect to children. Our programs include a 24 hour/7 day per week Crisis nursery for 0-8 year olds for up to 72 hours, plus Community Respite Programs and in-home education and support programs.
