City Cinema's projector is nearing its last days; we are not kidding - we actually had to cancel a film showing recently due to melting parts!  We are excited to announce that as of the end of March, 2025 we have been able to raise about $45,000 of the $53,200 cost to purchase a new laser projector. We want to thank our generous donors and a government agency that genuinely cares about culture to get us so close to our final goal! We only need to raise about another $8,000 to cover the cost of this very necessary piece of equipment. As PEI’s only independent theatre, owned and operated by the registered charitable organization, The Charlottetown Film Society, City Cinema is a true hub where community can gather for the study, appreciation, and celebration of film.
