The purposes of the Foundation are:
(a) to act as a charity to benefit Canada and the community as a whole from an historical and cultural point of view, preserving the traditions of The Canadian Scottish Regiment (Princess Mary's), [including its regimental bands and affiliated cadet corps], (hereinafter called the "Regiment"), being the only Scottish military unit on Vancouver Island, by donating to the Regiment its appropriate military dress uniforms, pipes and drums, accoutrements, regalia and other items which are not in the scale of issue from the Department of National Defence;
(b) to preserve the military heritage of Canada, British Columbia and Vancouver Island by encouraging the Regimental Museum, to educate museum staff, to provide lectures, discussions, workshops, visits, publications and exhibits for the enjoyment of the public, and to co-operate with other public and private bodies devoted to the same or similar purposes;
