The Canadian Red Cross mission is to improve the lives of vulnerable people by mobilizing the power of humanity in Canada and around the world.

Across Canada, our expertise as a disaster response organization is recognized, trusted and called upon during disasters. Decade after decade, we have served at the forefront of large operations — from floods and wildfires, to industrial disasters, to mass arrivals of refugees. We also work locally in communities across the country, helping people through ordeals that are smaller but just as devastating, such as house fires.

Internationally, through disaster response operations coordinated by the International Federation of the Red Cross (IFRC), we join the effort to provide what is most critical in the days, weeks and months following the initial impact. 

The Canadian Red Cross also works to prevent needless suffering and death by bringing essential health care to those in need. Over the past decade, working with Red Cross and Red Crescent partners in Africa, Asia and the Americas, we have brought vital health care to millions of people in more than 30 countries though dedicated health projects.
