Founded in 1921, Canadian Authors Association is a membership-based national arts service organization dedicated to helping writers thrive.
Canadian Authors Association is Canada's first and longest-running naitonal writers' organization. Founded nine decades ago by Stephen Leacock and other prominent writers of the time to lobby for the protection of authors' rights, the association has evolved into a unique blend of intimate local community and dynamic national network.
We're inclusive: We welcome aspiring, emerging and established writers across all genres and writing platforms. We believe every individual writer has a unique voice and deserves a chance to find that voice.
Our Mandate
Canadian Authors is dedicated to promoting a flourishing community of writers across Canada and to encouraging works of literary and artistic merit. We do this by
