I didn’t go to my highschool reunion but I did have a luckier chance to visit the former Wagar Highschool building & become part of an amazing Continuing Education & Recreation/Wellness program for severely disabled adults. This program is now the life of those classrooms and halls at the far end of the school (which back in my Wagar days was referred to as the “scum-doors” entrance).
All of us are somehow part of a vulnerable group, but few can relate to what life is like having to deal with such severe physical challenges that limit ability to care for oneself, even in the most basic way or communicate with another person, as one would want to.
