Safer Streets Now! Help us raise $30k for 30 km/h neighborhoods, by October 31st!

Cyclists and pedestrians are being needlessly killed and injured on B.C. roads. You can help change that.

Donate now to support our campaign for 30 km/h speed limits on all residential streets across British Columbia. Your contribution directly supports the advocacy work required to help save lives and create safer communities for everyone.

Why 30 km/h?

Lowering speed limits dramatically reduces the risk of collisions and the severity of injuries.

Survival Rates: A pedestrian struck by a vehicle at 50 km/h has only a 20% chance of survival. At 30 km/h, that chance increases to 90%.

Proven Results: 30 km/h speed limits in European cities have led to a 23% reduction in crashes, a 37% reduction in fatalities, and a 38% reduction in injuries.

Local Impact: A Toronto study showed a 67% decrease in major and fatal injuries after implementing 30 km/h limits.

Slower speeds also encourage more people to walk and cycle, leading to healthier communities, cleaner air, and quieter neighbourhoods.

You should donate to BC Cycling Coalition's 30 for 30 fundraiser because:

  • You value human life: Every year, preventable tragedies occur on B.C. roads. By donating, you directly support efforts to reduce these incidents and save lives.
  • You want safer streets for everyone: Whether you're a cyclist, pedestrian, or driver, slower speeds create a safer environment for all road users, including children, seniors, and people with disabilities.
  • You believe in the power of prevention: Investing in preventative measures like lower speed limits is more effective and less costly than dealing with the consequences of collisions.
  • You want to promote healthy, active communities: Slower speeds encourage more people to walk and cycle, leading to healthier lifestyles, cleaner air, and more livable neighborhoods.
  • You want to be part of a positive change: Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a tangible difference in creating safer streets and communities throughout BC.

In short, by donating, you're not just giving money; you're investing in a safer, healthier, and more vibrant future for British Columbia.
