35 units of affordable housing in the heart of Bells Corners, Ottawa. This three-and-a-half story, mixed-use affordable rental housing facility will serve women transitioning from a shelter, people on the municipal housing wait-list, and those in the community who need safe affordable housing. The housing will be managed by Cornerstone Housing for Women with their many years of experience providing support to hundreds of women every day in moving out of crisis and into stable and fulfilling lives. The building will provide space for the Western Ottawa Community Resource Centre (WOCRC) and the FAMSAC Food Cupboard creating a community hub. WOCRC connects people in the diverse communities of western Ottawa with health services, social services and programming. FAMSAC feeds the hungry by providing over 1,000 food hampers to approximately 300 families in western Ottawa.
The Anglican Diocese of Ottawa together with Christ Church Bells Corners has secured over $10,000,000 in funding from 3 levels of government to bring this project to fruition. The final $1,600,000 is being raised through our Community Fundraising Campaign.
