Greetings Friends and Family!
It’s hard to believe, but I am doing the Haliburton Highland Challenge with my dearest friends Trish and Roland. It was Trish’s idea to create a team in memory of Rod and in support of Brooksong - a cancer retreat in the Haliburton Highlands.
Why Brooksong? I’ve been working on the new branding of Brooksong and recently as the head of marketing & development. It’s an extraordinary place, offering unique programming to cancer patients and their caregivers. Brooksong’s motto is that “no one walks alone through a cancer experience”.
Hiking, biking and kayaking around the Highlands was one of Rod’s favourite things to do. So, we’ve pledged to walk, ride, and paddle 620 kilometers between July 01 - Sept 30th. We chose 620 kilometers because our Rod passed away on his 62nd birthday.
