About Tearfund Canada

We are Christians passionate about ending poverty, following Jesus where the need is greatest. 

The church is the most effective vehicle for bringing opportunity and hope in the community. Church-based Community Transformation (CCT) is a unique model of development that works through the local church to restore the broken relationships at the root of poverty.

Our Programs

Conservation Agriculture - Farmers learn how to double, triple, or even quadruple their crops to eat and sell.

Savings Groups - We help families grow their savings, build new businesses, and lift themselves out poverty.

Creation Care - We work with churches and communities to restore our broken relationship with creation.

Sexual and Gender-based Violence Recovery - Working together with the local church, our prayer is that women will see themselves through the eyes of Jesus.

Emergency Relief - When disaster strikes we are there in Jesus’ name to provide emergency relief and comfort to victims of natural and manmade disasters.
