A BRIGHTER FUTURE FOR KIDS WITH BRAIN CANCERS

Tali’s Fund was established in loving memory of Tal Esther Doron, our beautiful 4-year old girl who died after a brave struggle with a rare and aggressive brain cancer. Brain tumours are the second most common type of childhood cancer and the leading cause of cancerous death among children.

Since 2008, Tali's Fund has helped mobilize research at SickKids Hospital, leading to groundbreaking discoveries and global collaboration. Our efforts are paving the way for life-saving, more effective, and safer treatments for children with rare brain cancers. Your donations are now supporting new promising research initiatives at SickKids and partnerships with U.S. and Canadian organizations. We also continue to help support the Rare Brain Tumour Consortium, an international collaborative network of clinicians, scientists, patient advocates, and families dedicated to making rare brain tumours in children a curable disease.

We pride ourselves on knowing exactly where our donations are going and our ability to follow the progress of the specific projects we choose to support.

Our Impact

Thanks to our cherished supporters, Tali’s Fund is moving the needle in the area of childhood brain cancer treatment. We helped support a large collaborative study led by our research team at SickKids Hospital. The study involved over 40 countries worldwide, and resulted in significant findings which have been released in two world renowned journal publications. We also helped sponsor the launch of an online registry for rare childhood brain tumours, the Rare Brain Tumour Consortium (RBTC), which provides a global network to link patients, doctors, researchers and families. The current research goal is to create and implement clinical trials to test treatment protocols. This could lead to a paradigm shift in the way childhood brain tumours are treated.
