About SUNRISE PREGNANCY AND FAMILY SUPPORT SERVICES

Sunrise is a registered charity offering a variety of services to families in the Uxbridge area, including a weekly Parenting Support Program, Wraparound Care, Crisis Pregnancy Support and Annual Retreat.

Participants of our Parenting Support Program have access to an on-site social worker, counselor from Rose of Durham, teacher from Durham Continuing Education and a Durham Region Public Health Nurse. We also offer child care during this time and access to a donations closet. Parents take part in our Community Kitchen, learn healthy eating and cooking skills and eat a delicious meal each week. Guest speakers present and discuss topics of interest around parenting and healthy living. This program acts as a hub of services that are otherwise not available in North Durham.

Our Wraparound Care offers transportation support, accompaniment and home visits. We meet families where they are at and walk alongside them to reach their full potential and thrive as individuals, parents and community members!

We offer Crisis Pregnancy Support to women in the community experiencing an unplanned pregnancy or pregnancy loss. We provide compassionate, confidential and non-judgmental support to those who are feeling fearful and anxious, with nowhere else to turn. We also offer pregnancy loss support and counseling by trained professionals who can address the magnitude of experiences and emotions that come with grief.
