STR8 UP assists individuals in mastering their own destiny in liberating themselves from gangs and criminal street lifestyles.

WHAT WE DO:

STR8 UP works in the core community in Saskatoon with ex-gang members and their families, to help support individuals as they embark on a healthier path. STR8 UP is a grassroots organization that is driven by our members. We do not walk in front to lead, nor behind to push, we walk beside our members to assist, accompany, encourage and support. We do our best to meet members where they are at and case plan accordingly.

STR8 UP Approach:

We work with those who have been left behind without hope. Their healing and re-entry into wellness is not an event --- it takes years, with detours along the way. Our impact is evident in each life transformed, and those lives impact their families and communities. We are creating a positive ripple effect in the city of Saskatoon and throughout the province of Saskatchewan. STR8 UP fundamentally believes that:• Communities need to work with people where they are at, not where they might believe they should be at.• STR8 does not walk in front to lead, behind to direct but walks beside to support• Transformation is accomplished through a relationship of respect, humility, honesty and forgiveness. • Recovering gang members must make the decision and accept the responsibility of their personal transformation.
