Our neighbours continue to experience the ravages of COVID-19 including food insecurity. All evidence points to the fact that the vulnerable have become more vulnerable during the pandemic. Our partners, The Arab Community Centre of Toronto and Polycultural Immigrant & Community Services share client stories about those ongoing struggles. Healthy eating including fresh produce is something they find themselves forced to skip on.
The Good Neighbour Campaign will run until the end of June. We are presenting you with a call to sponsor a senior or a family for a week, a month or two months. This is the impact of your donation.
- $50 for 1 senior for a week
- $80 for 1 family for a week
- $200 for 1 senior for a month
- $320 for 1 family for a month
- $400 for 1 senior for 2 months
- $640 for 1 family for 2 months
The Neighbourhood Table @ Home delivering fresh produce, grocery gifts and recipes has been hugely appreciated. Participants say it makes them feel that somebody cares.
The need is now. We want to deliver an 8-week program in July and August for 50 families and 25 seniors. This requires topping up the available funding with $25,000.
