Imagine having a 900-year history of helping! Originally the Knights of St. John provided medical care to pilgrims in the Holy Land. Our service has, of course, evolved over centuries but our core mission has never faltered: to care for people, wherever they are.

Thanks to our many volunteers, instructors, employees, donors, partners,  and students, St. John Ambulance continues to be an international humanitarian organization committed to saving lives and shaping communities for the better.

If you’re a BC or Yukon resident, you may be familiar with our CPR, first-aid, or opioid response training. You may have seen an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) in a rink or park near you.  You may have been a wildfire evacuee, receiving critical updates from one of our volunteers. Or maybe one of our Therapy Dogs lapped up your hug in a moment you needed it most.

WHY WE NEED YOUR HELP

St. John Ambulance first aid training provides some revenue to our Volunteer Therapy Dog Team, Volunteer Medical First Responder, Youth, Fellowship, Start Me Up BC AED deployment, and St. John Eye Hospital programs. But not enough, and the need keeps growing. All these programs depend on the generosity of donors to remain rooted in the communities we serve, and continue saving lives at work, home and play.
